WinPower G2 gives you real-time visibility and control over power infrastructure across sites and platforms. SPS G2 runs on client machines to ensure graceful, coordinated shutdowns during power events. Together they keep your critical systems safe, compliant and online.

Shutdown protection
WinPower G2 runs as a service with a secure web interface. It discovers power devices (UPSs/PDUs) and protected systems (VMware, IPMI, SSH, NetApp, SPS hosts), then continuously polls or receives push events. When your chosen condition is met, WinPower executes the relevant shutdown plan — including notifying SPS G2 clients — and, where applicable, performs a timed UPS output off for a clean power-down.
Operating systems
WinPower G2 includes OpenJDK 21. SPS G2 supports Windows 10+, mainstream Linux, and macOS (13.3.1+ recommended).
Browsers
1. Install WinPower G2 on a monitoring host and open required ports. Access the web UI and change the default admin password.
2. Discover your devices — add UPSs via MQTT (UPNETG2), SNMP (NMC G1/third-party), USB/RS232 or Modbus TCP.
3. Add protected systems — VMware vCenter/ESXi, IPMI, SSH, NetApp and SPS hosts.
4. Define shutdown conditions — battery time/capacity, discharge duration, or “UPS is going to shut down”.
5. Deploy SPS G2 on client machines, configure delay, scripts (optional) and shutdown actions, then test.

Does WinPower G2 work without a network card?
Yes. You can connect locally via USB/RS232 or over the network via Modbus TCP. For network-card deployments, UPNETG2 uses MQTT and NMC G1 uses SNMP.
Can it control PDUs?
Yes. WinPower G2 monitors PDU G2 devices over SNMP and can switch outlets on/off (write credentials required).
How are shutdowns coordinated?
WinPower G2 evaluates your conditions, notifies SPS clients and/or hypervisors/servers, waits for your defined timers, then performs the UPS output off (where applicable) for a clean power-down.
How many devices can I monitor?
The free edition supports up to 100 power sources. Add a licence to increase limits and enable third-party RFC1628 monitoring.
